MAKE THE MOVE

THAT MOVES YOUR CAREER.

Turn the season you earned into the strongest opportunity available to you.

COLLEGE COMPENSATION

College compensation is bigger than one category.

Athletes and families often use “NIL” as shorthand for the entire compensation conversation. In practice, the opportunities can come from different sources and carry different obligations. Each needs to be evaluated on its own terms and as part of the athlete’s overall position.

01

Build opportunities beyond the school package.

Brand partnerships, appearances, social-media campaigns, licensing, and other commercial opportunities can add value when they fit your profile and schedule. Get help evaluating whether the opportunity is real, what the brand expects, how long the obligations last, and whether the compensation is fair.

02

Know what the school is actually offering.

School-based compensation can include different payment structures, conditions, timelines, and consequences. Understand what is guaranteed, what depends on continued participation or other obligations, what happens after a transfer, and how the offer compares with your market position.

03

Evaluate the whole package.

An opportunity may involve more than one payment source or one agreement. Compare the full package, the people responsible for paying it, the timing, the obligations, and the practical risks before treating a headline number as settled value.

Get all the benefits that come with effective advocacy: Strata may help you secure more compensation, better terms, and a better fit for your career.

TRANSFER STRATEGY

The portal is a market. Enter it prepared.

Before entering transfer discussions, you need a realistic understanding of your market, your priorities, and the story programs will hear about you. Strata helps athletes think through whether a move makes sense, prepare for crucial conversations, assess opportunities, compare the full picture, and negotiate from a position of informed leverage.

Decision factors:

01

Expected role and path to the field

02

Development and coaching fit

03

Competition and roster context

04

Compensation and payment reliability

05

Agreement obligations and transfer consequences

06

Academic and personal fit

07

Long-term positioning

The biggest number is not automatically the best decision—but compensation is real leverage, and it should be negotiated seriously.

HIGH-SCHOOL ATHLETES & PARENTS

Before signing with a college, understand the full opportunity.

High-school athletes and their families may be asked to evaluate compensation, roster expectations, commercial opportunities, and agreement terms while also making one of the biggest athletic and educational decisions of the athlete’s life. Strata can represent athletes in those discussions and help families compare what is being offered before the athlete commits.

You do not need to become an expert in every new compensation rule before helping your child make a sound decision. You do need an advisor who can explain the offer clearly, identify the questions that matter, and negotiate where the terms should improve.

WHAT REPRESENTATION INCLUDES

Representation built around the decision—not just the deal.

  • Market-value and opportunity assessment
  • Compensation strategy
  • School and collective discussions
  • Brand deals and negotiations
  • Transfer and stay-or-go strategy
  • Offer and agreement comparison
  • Coordination with separate legal counsel when legal review is requested
  • Ongoing guidance as the athlete’s circumstances change

Agency representation and legal representation are separate. Strata Sports Group can negotiate as the athlete’s agent. Legal review or legal advice is optional and, when requested and accepted, is provided under a separate agreement through the appropriate affiliated law practice.

FIT & SCOPE

Football first. Selective by design.

Strata focuses its athlete-representation practice primarily on college football so that recruiting, market knowledge, content, relationships, and attention stay concentrated where the firm is strongest. Strata may selectively represent exceptional athletes in other collegiate sports when there is a compelling fit and a meaningful opportunity to add value.

Strata does not provide NFL Draft representation or professional-sports representation.
